Mar-23-02, 05:07 PM (EST) "Justin Cornell"s Dash9" After 8 an a half hours working on Justin's "New" Dash9...I came up with this!Soon to be Norfolk Southern dash9.The motive for such time consumeing work is that i plan on releasing this tga and bmp file as a "Undecorated Edition"...Of course if your reading this Justin, and Judd,i need your permission to do so.I added alot of 3-d effects(panels, grilles, added panels etc.)I also wanted to generate more interest in a fine, fine Dash9 model. It's too nice of a model to not be repainted...so far i haven't seen any...and that's why i did what i did.The tga,and bmp can easily be "lightened" in any painting program. What do ya'll think?I don't know how to add the handles on the panel doors,so you won't see them.

Mar-23-02, 05:50 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Justin Cornell"s Dash9" Hi SD80MAC,The Dash 9's model, texture mapping, and the texture files themselves were done by Justin. He adapted the BNSF textures from my "replacement default" GP38-2 skins (BNSF 2098) and was kind enough to give me credit for his use of my files.Looking at what you have done, it appears that little, if any of my original textures are left, so really Justin would be the one to talk to.FWIW, it is possible that Justin already has, or is in the process of doing a version of the skin that is annotated for reskinners. You might check with him on this.Good luck.Judd Spittler

"RE: Justin Cornell"s Dash9" okay i tried to post earlier but the forum was soooo slow...so im posting now. i didnt have any plans to release texture blanks but there are guides on my webspace, you can relase a set if you lie, it would save me the extra work. as for an NS dash nine ive already done one paint of it. still want to see yours tho.

still strange for a nine but pretty. Anyway, in that case you still have to fix the nose, or at least repaint it to create an illusion, some' like that:

Mar-25-02, 11:58 PM (EST) 25. "RE: With North American paint scheme" you got a nice engine there, but what they say about the windsheild is right, a CN unit has a different hood angle on the front, but not to worry too much, because your windsheild is kindof low on the textures anyway (see wiper positions) probably just moving it up will make it good enough to not notice the hood difference.-Justin Cornell

Mar-25-02, 11:27 PM (EST) 24. "RE: Justin Cornell"s Dash9/my work-in-progress" SD80MAC,I've started on the CSX CW44-9 in YN2 "Bright Future" scheme as of last night (3/24).kyleh24,Your CSX "No Future" paint looks great, but you have it numbered as a CW44AC. CSX's Dash 9's are in the 9000 series, and no bolt under the number. Only AC traction units get bolts.Chris Denbow - Baltimore, Md.

Mar-27-02, 07:46 PM (EST) 28. "RE: Justin Cornell"s Dash9/my work-in-progress" Yes, you are correct about the dash9 vs the AC's. However, they are very similar in appearance, and I don't care too much for the 9000 series of numbers. I am really glad CSX did not continue with the original sequence of numbers for the AC's (9100-9103). But anything is possible now since they won't be getting any more Dash 9's, and are rapidly retiring the "pumpkins" in the 9500 and up number range. This will leave a block of ~950 numbers for them to use, as there are no other numbers being used up there besides the 9992 and 9993 (F40PH's). Anyway, I'll be glad to renumber one for the 9000 series for you all, as well as upload the AC version. Are there any specific number request for the 9000-9052?
