"RE: Newbie Needs Help" the most important tool needed is patience, it usually takes lots of time to get a skin just right. its not unusual to create a skin load it in the game and something is messed up such as a rteversed texture or a warped texture on a part of the model there isnt much you can do about that except use trial and error until it looks right in the game. its also essential to have TGAtool2 which is a freeware program which can extract textures froim the ace files into a format readable by a graphic program. i hear lots of people say they just use mspaint to do reskins but i personally prefer to use photoshop and paint shop pro for all my reskins. if you are looking for a very good and easy to use and relatively cheap graphic design program then paint shop pro is the best chouice. other than that, there realy isnt much more you need for reskins. just patience, good program, and a creative mind. good luck.

Reference a few of the posts on what is good and what is difficult (default SD40 is a good example of a problem waiting to happen). I like to use ImageForge as well as Corel software but I don't have the talent of the better skinners who can extract the real worth from high end software.
Hope this helps,
