Mar-09-02, 05:56 PM (EST) "Durango and Silverton coaches / Eureka and Palisade reskins" Hello fellow trainsim fans! I just wanted to show what I have been doing recently. I have been reskinning the Eureka and Palisade and also creating some Durango and Silverton coaches. It has been slow progress the past couple of weeks since the birth of my son, but I wanted to post some pics and see how others felt about my work. I am 95% done with the Eureka and Palisade 4-4-0, I just need to fine tune a few more .ace files. It is very detailed including detailed wood in the tender, intricate art work on the sand dome and wheels, and even the wood grain on the walnut cab! I tried to recreate it as close as possible to the real thing. (I hope the original re-skinner does not take offense! I'm not trying to step on toes here!) Anyway, here are some pics:

Now on my Durango and Silverton coaches I simply reskinned the PO&N cars. I have made five coaches and one box car with plans in the future to do the flat cars and caboose. I also remember seeing hopper cars while riding the durango and silverton on a siding near Hermosa, but we'll see about those. The five coaches I did are: Durango, Needleton, Elk Park, Rockwood, and Silverton. Each has been weathered and is authentically numbered according to the real coach. Even their coats of paint are differently colored! My box car has simulated weathering and paint peeling off. I know Grizzly Bear has been working on these at the same time as I have. (My appologies early if I have offended you in doing the same work, I don't mean to offend anyone!) As of now the only consist I have is with the steam engine D&RGW pacific # 803 (found in this sites download library) It is one of the closest I have found to the Durango engines. (Of course I could be wrong because I haven't checked in a while!) I haven't got around to reskinning it yet but plan on it in the future. It will be nice when the K-36 (or is it K-37?) is done. I can't wait! Here are some pics of my D&SNGRR livery:
Durango
Elk Park
Needleton
Rockwood
Silverton
I believe that I am satisfied with the way the coaches and box car look, I just need to finish a caboose and any other cars I feel up to doing. I haven't loaded them into the library as of yet, I was first wanting some opinions on my work. The Eureka and Palisade needs a few more things done, and if there is a popular demand, I may upload it also. I am I guess a "perfectionist" and whether that is a good thing or not I don't know. Anyway, if there is a good response and high demand, I would be more than willing to share my work once completed. Now that I have the rolling stock done, I just need to finish work on my Durango and Silverton route! Hopefully that will be a future upload also!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by to view my thread, and feel free to post any comments on my work.
Thanks,
Engineer Kyle

Nice looking work there! Geez, I guess I'd better be on my toes now that I got competition for this stuff, LOL! I just uploaded a second set of D&S coaches featuring "Rockwood", "Durango", "King Mine" and "Animas City". I originally decided to paint Eureka because it's one of my favorite engines. I fell in love with her the first time I saw her in Durango a few summers ago. Since then, I've gone to Durango and Chama several times to see it. One thing on your repaint is it looks a little too black. The boiler is actually quite blue, and the lantern box matches the brown on the domes. Other than that, truly great work, better than mine. I especially like the drivers, great recreation of the pattern on them. How did you get the roof grey? I couldn't for the life me get it grey like it should be because the roof seemed to map from the same place as the rest of the cab. Here's a picture of Eureka so you can see the boiler color. Nice Stuff
Grizzly
P.S. Congrats on your new family member!
