Mar-04-02, 10:33 PM (EST) "Pictures of Rare and Unusaul Equipment" In my travels today I snapped these pics. I can not say i have seen UP cars in this scheme before. It kind of looks like an old passenger type box. It is lettered for the MP with a UP shield.

If any one else has some good shots let see them.
Also, I am always driving by the yards around here, so if some one needs a special shot, I may be able to accomodate.

Mar-05-02, 01:40 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Pictures of Rare and Unusaul Equipment" That MP boxcar ends up in Roseville a lot. Its a shame that they went and put a UP shield on it I remember seeing it several times with an MP logo. What about the '40s vintage drop bottom gondola (UP), have you seen that lately? You seem to be on that side of town more often than I am, I hope that car doesn't get cut up. I wish I could have seen those CP units, I remember a couple of times in British Columbia if I could have gotten my truck off the road fast enough I would have been able to get some pictures that could have won the annual Trains photo contest. Unfortunately, I am no longer welcome in Canada(some guys get kicked out of bars, I've been kicked out of a country). BTW I saw one of your co-workers today, some poor guy broke down right outside the gate of Teichert's Florin-Perkins plant. The voice of insanity in a seemingly normal world. Mar-05-02, 03:18 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Pictures of Rare and Unusaul Equipment" LAST EDITED ON Mar-05-02 AT 03:21 AM (EST) I have not seen the gondola lately, but there is a scrap line along near where Riverside tees into that other road on the west end of Roseville town. Mostly CNW and SP equipment, there is even an SPPD caboose sittng there as well. I do not think they will be cutting the cabosse up as it does not say "dismantle as is where is" on the side as do the other cars. There is however an older CNW hopper that looks more like a boxcar.
Oh one more thing those CPR units have been in and out of town for the last few weeks. I even saw a few CalTrain units there a few weeks ago as well.Erik Pierson
