Mar-03-02, 09:19 PM (EST) "GM&O ROUTE GONE..." I have been around this forum in the shadows since the beginning. I know who most of you "old timmers" are and how you act. Many of you will say "good riddins"...but several of you won't...for those of you who supported the GM&O project..THANK YOU VERY MUCH!.Thanks to NELS for a great job on this site!...Nels, you've really been good to me..and thank you..thanks to all who were!Now..I've never totally lost my cool here...so before I do...Goodbye. Why? Lawrence was the route builder..and a darn good one too! I, like many here are TIRED of the bickering! It's a hobby to have fun with...not to LIVE for...LISTEN!!! ---TO HAVE FUN WITH!Lawrence Kelley may have troubles...we all do of some sort...but your character assasinations of each other is just too childish for me to handle here any more!Because of several's petty bickering...the GM&O is gone and so is one of the best route builders I've know on this site.He may be back, he may not..and yes there will be others..but I have seen some other greats go because of these childish conditions.I for one wanted to enjoy the hobby with others here...but several of you make that impossible, because you keep things stirred up. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR REASONS! If you can't deal with your troubles in a private fashion..then get out of this hobby! Think about others once in a while rather than yourselves all the time! (and don't say that you do think of others with all your uploaded routes and projects when I know you only want the glory, I've seen several posts over the duration of this site.)We all have different personalities and since we can not see the others on this site face to face..it is too easy to become upset thinking something was said in a dis-tasteful fashion when it was actually ment with the best intent, so one other very wise gentleman stated in one of the other "heated" posts.I must say this about Lawrence Kelley. I've seen him act out here..like others have....but I've also delt with him on a personal level...I will tell many of you...unless you've spoken to Lawrence on the phone, and E-mailed back and forth constantly...and really got to know him, then you can say what you feel..but most of you have NOT. If you had taken the time to get to know Lawrence as I did...You'd NEVER fight with him! You'd find a very sincere person who DID have others in mind..until he got backed into a corner..I'd come out punching too if you guys were on me that way all the time! Some of you are way too selfish to think of others. I know..I've watched you since the begining!I must admit I was unsure about Lawrence at first..but once I got to know him..he turned out to be a really nice guy, and very intellegent in the MSTS world, as many of YOU are. Lawrence is not a saint..he'd tell you that, he's told me that..and I'm not either..no one here is. So, let's get off our "high and mighty" and start dealing kindly with others within reason..is that so hard to do??? Lawrence NEVER asked anything from me...and was very understanding..EVEN KIND! He was a heck of a route builder..always comming up with something better. The GM&O route was to have a real roadbed, 7 feet off the surface with ditches all the way up to the ballast line..... a real prototypical route that would had more trackside objects than ever before..with no game crashes because of it...you guys just do not know who you ran off! I've not seen any of these things in some of the older routes...that's for sure.. and Lawrence would have helped you to make your route that way if you'd let him...that's the way I've seen him...It would have been nice to have gotten to know some of you too...but I don't think you can allow that with the chips I see on several's shoulders.Am I ticked off?...for now..YES..because several of you ruined a good route for the rest of us because of a petty squabble over rediculous things..if we all cared about others in this hobby, we'd trust our fellow train-simmers and allow sharing of products..without the all the hassle....but because of the selfishness of a couple...copyrights must be used just to protect someone's work!
(but that's another gripe..since this is my last post, I just wanted to through that one in for free.)I for the most part respected all of you..until this squabble.
Now I'll go back to the shadows of MSTS where I came from..and hope several of you will grow up..soon!As the manager and the ex- Airforce gentleman is(no names here)
..I too am "old" and been around the block..working for the Gateway Western as a signalman and in broadcasting for 18 years...so I don't have the time or the desire to see all this pettyness! It's all up to you..those who stir the pot up everytime YOU feel it needs it...just stay out of it!..If it involves you..then take care of it PRIVATELY! keep it off here!As for the GM&O downloads on this site..they will stay as long as Nels sees fit..and I don't care who uses them for whatever reason...just have fun with them.FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NEW.. keep your nose clean here..and watch and learn..there's alot of good stuff here..but just enough bad to upset the whole table right now...it will get better..
One more thing..I have new skins of GM&O E-7's I'm going to use as my final upload..they will only work with the Train Artisan SP E-7 download. You will need to get into the .eng file and change the headlights of the SP E-7 for this one...by the way is the best looking engine I've ever seen..that TA SP-E7 that is.VERY SINCERELY,Paul Fowler Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
