Run a virus scan - it will clean the virus, but i think your files may be gone... ------ BUZZ ------

this link will take you to the Symantic Site. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/vbs.loveletter.ch.htmlCAUTION: Do not attempt to run files that have been overwritten or renamed by this worm. If you do, the worm is executed again. It is important to scan ALL email, downloads, and your computer at regular intervals to keep this from happening. Get the latest virus definitions. Your files are lost unless you have a backup.Kevin Arceneaux Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-13-02, 11:52 PM (EST) 3. "RE: MAJOR PROBLEM....COMPUTER WIZZARDS HELP!!!!" Hi GUys, Well this was a very valuable lesson, and a expensive one!! It was the affore mentioned virus. It took out EVERY JPEG I had. 8000 pics, most trains, GONE!!!! I havent even tried the MP3 or train sim .wav files yet, but all jpegs in the sim stuff are gone.I HAD Norton anti-virus up till a month ago, and I deleted it when I had a problem. Then as silly as it sounds, the cat ruined the disc. SO, to make a long story short, I paid the price for procrastination. I WILL NEVER be without it again. I am going to get the backup software as well. Now here is the kicker, I backed up ALL of my pics except the train pics a week ago. SIGH!!!!!Live and learn!!!Kelley

Most all of us here probably feel your pain!!! I had a bunch of shots taken in New York last summer before 9-11. Beautiful skies, WTC inside and up top, family, etc, etc. Didn't loose them to a virus, but a HD crash, because I didn't have a backup!!
Computers are great as long as we stay one step ahead of 'em.
