Hey MSTS reskinners....Is Cryrus not giving you permission to do reskins of TrainArtisan stuff? I have had this problem, and I heard of another one today. I am steamed, you could say, at this. I've seen TA repaints out there, but I have seen that CRYrus will ignore some people. What's with this? I've tried a couple times, and it's always the same thing. Drives me nuts.Could the people that have had this same problem with TrainFartisan post their experiences here? I have been very curious about this. I see he has no problem with NALW....perhaps it's because NALW have a "reputation" and Cryrus does not want to get involved with the small guys, i.e.: is discriminating against the small MSTS reskinning crowd?An angered Kurt of KLWtrainsim. I got help from Cyrus before there was a NALW or TA..... He is known for not getting back to people in a hurry as he has an active life..... We waited over 2 months to get the skins done for the Merchants Limited and like you see we are old "business partners of his"
I don't think there is anything personal to this at all... He'd probably be ignoring me if I was to write him right now! LOL!

Post here...I want to know." this is how FS people solved the issue, a group releases an official "paintkit" with its own official readme's, shmeadme's and all that goodness, you do a repaint, upload it to file library rightaway and everybody knows who the original authors are, because the original readme is there. It's like saying: "here bro, you can paint it (we let you do it), just keep our readmes" otherwise the guy would get "critically crucified" anyway.All of you guys have to do paintkits of your works...now I hope TA dudes never see this thread, all we need is to offend a group of nice people and have them shut down their site... I have found Cyrus to be very gracious and punctual on responding to my requests, I have never had a problem.
I would like to say it has been great being able to bring some of these beauties to the rest of you!!
Authors usually tell you can post it just as long as you include the original readme.txt file.
I usually find it good practice to use anybody's readme text file and just add my own stuff at the top.db

I can't speak for my entire team but "I" build engines which I WANT to see repainted. To me if someone repaints my work I feel like they must like it. It's a very flattering thing. I have absolutely no problem having others repaint my work so long as I get my due credit for the model. Hell, I'm not that good at the paint jobs I put on anyway and I'm sure most of my engines need repaints . As far as Cyrus goes, I can vouch that he is in a very, VERY busy line of work. He often doesn't even return my emails. I can't tell you about the rest of the team's work but if you'd like to repaint the SD70's or any of my other work I'd be more than happy to send you the bitmaps for them.-Jago-

There are lots of people , concentrate on your self and your work, not on how others act or behave. That's their lives and their business. But ,think about it. Cyrus has things to do and people to see , MSTS is probably of a low priority for him; even though he is well known and he is very important to all of our Train simming lives. I always try to put in a helpful comment .But please To all of you i hope this doesn't turn into a Train-sim community wide flame. Just close it up and LEARN YOUR LESSON!

I usually don't get involved in these kind of discussions, but I think your statements could be construed as bordering on slander, or at least defamation of character, especially given the public and open nature of the Internet.
Cy is pretty easy to deal with. You will notice I had two CP reskinned Mountains out there pretty soon after the TA release.. All it took was one email. I've had PLENTY of dealings with the TA folks, both online, and via phone, and have never had any problems, only courteous and professional replies.
This isn't life or death, and fortunes aren't being made and lost over TA skins. Its a game.. If Cy's schedule is anything like those of any of us who have real jobs as well, its no wonder it might take awhile for a reply to be forthcoming.

The guys at TrainArtisan are not only some of the most talented around, they're also some of the nicest people in the MSTS community. When they released their Mountain, I thought it needed some Western liveries for it, so I painted it in Union Pacific, Santa Fe, and Denver & Rio Grande. The TrainArtisan guys were very accomodating and let me release them for everyone just as long as I gave them proper credit for their model and included the original documentation. A bit of advice, posting things like this isn't going to help you get your work out there or help you make any friends in the community. If you say things like this about other hobbyists, especially well-liked and respected ones, people may not let you use their work after all. Just my 2 cents. Grizzly

N.B.:
1. The trainartisan gentleman's name is Cyrus. You continue the misspelling of his name even in your most recent 'apologetic' post.
2. Your very rude twist of the word 'artisan' (for which you claim to apologize, but, please note, you followed it with an exclamation), is not an apology although you stated it as such. You not only repeated your crude twist of the word, for the forum to view once again, but then you emphasized it with the exclamation point.
