Jan-26-02, 07:05 AM (EST) "Repaint suggestions?" Hi, all.I'm planning on starting with some repainting. I've downloaded TGtool2 (I think that's the name), and am ready to try some painting. I decided to have a go at the Dash 9.
However, being over in the good old United Kingdom, and although having a fondness for the huge trains on American metal, I know next to nothing about the colour schemes.
Therefore, I was wondering whether there was a particular colour scheme you'd like to see (preferably something simple!), and a picture.
Heck, gimme a picture and I'll do you a fictional Railroad.
BTW, do you need to get permission to repaint MSTS Dash 9? Lokk forward to hearing your suggestions!

Jan-26-02, 03:59 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Repaint suggestions?" As far as permissions go, I don't think you need permission to repaint the default engines in MSTS. They encourage it, provide the makeace conversion exe, plus, how would you go about getting permission from Microsoft or KUJU? Probably would take months. I always ask permission from anyone else. I.E., 3DTrains, TrainAtrisan, Jens-Chris, etc. I want everything to be on the up-and-up. I basically think the originator of a new model usually wants their original readme included so whoever downloads it knows where it came from and what their copyright rules/wishes/issues are. Especially in light of what has happened with Marco and MSTrains.org, a lot of people who were the original designers of the models DID NOT WANT THEIR WORK REDISTRIBUTED on other websites without their permission/consent. It's really very easy to contact the originator, usually in the readme file there is an email address or at whatever website you download from- (3DTrains, TrainAtrisan) there are email addresses you can contact to ask permission. Or, third choice, you can never ask permission, repaint and never post it, just keep for your personal trainset in your own computer!
