Jan-24-02, 10:04 PM (EST) "Coupler break value" I'm trying to set a relistic break value for Roadrailers but don't know how to figure it. They use a fixed connection and are allowed trains of a hundred plus units at about 25-50 tons a piece. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-24-02, 10:17 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Coupler break value" I really am not familiar with these, but as a good guess, I would start with 1.7e7N. That is slightly less than 385,000 pounds. 2.4e7N is 540,000 pounds, a probable upper limit, and 1.4e7N is 315,000 pounds, the lower limit.
Hope this helps, and I would be glad to convert if anyone has the break in pounds?
