Jan-07-02, 01:28 PM (EST) "Auran/TGV packs?" I received my Auran (USA/Canada) Train Packs and I like the smoke effect that they have.
Now, can I use this smoke effect on none Auran model by manipulating some files?
Also purchased a TGV Pack1 and I like the cab design, can I use this cabview with other models? I have tried copying the cabview to a none TGV Pack1 model and I had an error.Thanks,

To keep things simple, you want to use the CabView of A with B.
1. Rename the CabView folder of B to CabView_Old2. Copy the complete CabView folder with all its contents from A to B.3. Look in the CabView folder of A for a file with .cvf on the end and note the name. Here it will be A.cvf4. Open the .eng file of B in WordPad and search for a line CabView(?.cvf). The ? is the name B uses for the CabView5. Now change the name between the () to the name you note in 3.Remember eng files are Unicode, so open them in WordPad or a Unicode sensitive editor, otherwise you get errors.The hard way is aliasing the CabView. That's a different sport.For the smoke, in the eng file you will find these lines

DieselSmokeEffectInitialMagnitude( 5 )
DieselSmokeEffectMaxMagnitude( 10 )
DieselSmokeEffectInitialSmokeRate( .2 )
DieselSmokeEffectMaxSmokeRate( .2 )
These lines influences the smoke effects of a Diesel Engine.Dick van den Hoven
