Jan-05-02, 02:52 PM (EST) "small problems" Message Areas - "small problems" – image 1 This is a repaint of 3D Perfection Models GP 9, with a few
questions attached.
1. Having trouble with the ends of the hood. There is a
small square in the tga marked "hood ends". Is there a way
to have two different colours ?
2. There is a piece below and behind the cab that is grey and
should be maroon . Does anyone know where this section is on the tga ?
3. Seems I've screwed up the alpha for the number boards. I've
tried copying new alphas but no luck. Any suggestions ? These problems may be related to my 4 meg video card.lol Love the game and all the helpful people at this site. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Don Hewitt and I have been all over Patrick's maps and the panel behind the cab on the conductor's side is a mystery ( since you're using the latest model from his site( the CP rail models, Beta 1.8 I think ) he has a warning on the maps that says to be careful about this panel, or weird things will happen ( or something to that effect ). If you look at Don's Northern Pacific "canoe" GP18, you'll see that he did the best he could, as you will.
Both hood end caps have to be the same color, so another compromise is in your future......
Depending on the paint program you're using, you should be able to generate another Alpha channel to correct the one you've lost.
You're doing a great job on this model. Don't let the setbacks defeat you.
Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Jan-06-02, 04:52 PM (EST) 3. "RE: small problems" Thanks for the info. Lightbg you're right , it is the CP 1.8
that I'm trying to repaint.
The hood ends I can live with, the piece behind the cab less so.
The messed up alpha is fixable (fingers crossed).
Repainting this loco has been fun.
For others contemplating taking up the paint brushes.
