Jan-04-02, 11:34 PM (EST) "NEW GM&O RS-3's and CABOOSE here Saturday...if" Hello everybody.
I've been trying to upload my 2 re-skinned RS-3's (different #'s) in GM&O red, and 1 GM&O red cabosse but the upload site gives me the error page. Anyone got any tips on where to and how to upload? I just got done uploading alot of other things elsewhere..so my brouser and security should be in good shape.
I'm also working on GM&O F-3's and F-7s...(if I can find single headlight models) and GP-38-2, GP-30, and whatever I can get permission for to reskin. Is there any interest in the Good 'Ol GM&O here? You lived in Illinois then, may I ask where? I plan on E-7's one day...but not right away. My next venture are F-3's...A and B-B units (B-unit B-65)...if your a true GM&O fan..you know what I mean. My RS-3's should be on the download site soon...so look for them..#s 1515 and 1516 in one load...instructions for making two units out of one are enclosed. One unit is a complete unit including cab and sound, the other you just copy the cab and sound files out of the first to make two RS-3's. I'm just waiting for them to clear the uploading process. I grew up in a small town in centra illinois. Pontiac. 35 miles north of Bloomington on the GM&O route, as a young child my parents ideas of a good night out was a visit to the root beer stand and then to the station to watch the (probably 8 or 9 o'clock train come through. this would have been early to mid 50's what I remember was the concrete shaking, the blast of the airbreaks the cloud of vapor and the blast of the horns. I sound of the engine at idle was enough to send a small boy into fits of glee. I have been looking at pictures that reflect that time and mostly see GM&O E8's there's a great photo in Vintage Diesel of a polished E8 at night with it's port holes glowing. One the light experts really needs to take that on as a project. Well that,s my connection to the GM&O cheap recreation in a small town. I miss it. You moved me JD....I put everything else on hold and I've completed one half the E-8 100A in GM&O red AND maroon. I have permission to upload it...so as soon as I get some decent E- unit logo graphic and Gulf Mobile & Ohio written out that I can cut and paste...(that look good)..it should be ready in a few days...then on to an F-7 B unit of two...maybe and F-3A..880B or at least one of the 880's, then passenger cars..this is my next project...to give enough GM&O so that anyone can put togther anything in GM&O. Do you have any Graphics with the GM&O in it's correct fonts and shapes that I can copy off an E-mail from you? It would make things alot easier...thanks if you can help...if not...just download the GM&O as it comes back to life...Thanks for your support!...Paul Fowler. Fallen flags has 103 by the way.http://hometown.aol.com/altonroute/index.htmlThe above site has some great pics and is using a nice logo. I would suggest seeking this persons permission. My small file says it went but when I went to the FTP site, I didn't see it. My larger file just won't go and I can't get ftp to work.As for jpegs in your message, make sure they are less than 100k.David Klemm
