I am going to do 4 of them. one fresh paint, one slightly weathered, one heavily weathered and one so weathered it'll wish it was scrapped.lol. The blackish one is the heavy weathered. the other 2 pics are of the fresh paint showing off the newly restored UP coaches.

AFAIK WP SW1500 had only two different schemes.

Jan-04-02, 09:08 PM (EST) 3. "RE: HEY all you WP fans look. NEW WP SW1500's" HiA lot of people are having a hard time with the cab files. The cab view files are all in the \cabview folder. The rear view is named SW1500Right.To do a repaint, keep it simple, you never need to save the files as TGAs. If you do you need to know how to use makeace on the command line using the size option. The easy wayYou will need the latest version of TGATOOL2 and the latest version of MAKEACE. The cab files are 1024x768. Using the TGATOOL2 program, load the view you want to change and send the image to your graphic editor. Make the changes you want using your graphics editor and then “save” the file (do not use “save as”). Now go back to TGATOOL2 and reload the image. Now export the file using TGATOOL2 to “ACE with Alfa channel”.What throws a lot of people is that they look at the CVF file and see that the forward view is SW1500frnt. If your computer has a good graphic card the sim will actually load a file named SW1500frnt1024. So they edit the wrong file and go to see their work and nothing has changed.Well that should give you a push in the right direction

Jan-05-02, 01:59 PM (EST) 4. "RE: HEY all you WP fans look. NEW WP SW1500's" I'm sorry, but that doesn't even remotely look like WP. The lettering shouldn't be a sans-serif style, and it's supposed to be stacked. There's supposed to be a number on the cab side. The pilots ought to be barricade-striped green and orange. Finally, the green just doesn't look right—not saturated enough for one, and in general the closest WP green to it is that on the faded and rusty 918D down in Oakland, California. As far as I'm aware, none of the three WP SW1500s were ever repainted into the "new image" scheme. Jan-06-02, 02:02 PM (EST) 6. "RE: HEY all you WP fans look. NEW WP SW1500's" LAST EDITED ON Jan-06-02 AT 02:07 PM (EST)Hi Guys. The second SW1500 with the stripes was just for fun. the first 2 pics are the ones that are going to be used. I changed the color a little since then and yes I do have the numbers on the cab sides. I have never seen any WP stock so I'm tryin to make the green from pictures but it's not that easy when there are no really good shots that show the exact color of the unit. I'll post an updated pic in about an hour. I'm readin up on WP stuff right now. I didn't do the cabview yet. SD80MAC I tried clicking that e-mail address you gave me but everytime I send a message I get the undeliverable mail after a few minutes when it comes back. E-mail me by clicking the envelope by my name if you still need help with it. Craig Shortino Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-07-02, 04:04 PM (EST) 8. "RE: HEY all you WP fans look. NEW WP SW1500's" The green is way too dark and the lettering is too. Also, the SW1500's were numbered 1501, 1502 and 1503 and had the numbers on the side of the cab. They never were painted in the New Image scheme either. They also rode on Flexicoil trucks so the truck sideframes are incorrect as well. Go to: www.wplives.com for reference pictures. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
