Jan-02-02, 02:54 PM (EST) "SW1500 repaint" Just started this about 2 hours ago so it isn't finished yet.Just wanted a few opinions on whether to keep going or give up

The only problem I've run into is on the front of the cab by the cowling.I kep getting red at the bottom but I can live with it.How about you guys ?Freddie A. Huff

"RE: SW1500 repaint" Splatter,Take a look at some of the other offerings that are available at Nels' site: If you try to compare your first attempt with something by Train Artisan, you'll probably cut your fingers off at the elbows. Very few people are that gifted artistically. But,everyone has to start somewhere, and don't sweat out an opinion poll. If you think it's OK and can live with it, DO IT!! Don't be afraid to attempt anything - geez, I actually scanned a $10 bill, stuck it on a boxcar and the thing got over 300 hits! The best thing about MSTS is it's open archetecture: Whenever you get into the downloads section and scan whats available, it's always cooler if you see your own name in the mix. I think this is a major improvement.As you can see I've done 2 so far with different road numbers of course.I don't know how to redo the cabview so if I do upload them it will have the default cabview.Freddie A. Huff

SD80 I have made a cabview but it's ugly as sin,but I guess it beats nothing.

Go to the web site called Nor-cal SP Connection. They have pix of every sw1500 SP had. Good source file. I just got the hang of reskinning and i'm planning to do a KCS Tunell motor! "RE: SW1500 repaint" Yea I know,that's whats been frustrating me.The way it's mapped out,if I get the back red the way it should be,other areas of the loco are also painted red which shouldn't be.It wasn't a lack of effort to get it right,just a texture mapping problem.That's why I've posted so many screens getting people's opinions.I think the last pic I posted looks the best.It's about as close as the mapping will let me get.Freddie A.
