Dec-29-01, 09:54 PM (EST) "SW1500 Re-paint, Finally." Downloaded the fine SW1500 by Mark Toland, after running it around for a few days I finally decided to try to re-skin. This one is kind of tough to follow on the mapping. But I'm giving it a try anyway, here's what I have so far.Message Areas - "SW1500 Re-paint, Finally." – image 1
Still a fine model otherwise. WDC Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-30-01, 10:42 AM (EST) 4. "RE: SW1500 Re-paint, Finally." HiIt looks like you are using an older version of TGATOOL2.exe the newer version does not cause that distortion of the pallet at the bottom of the image.

Dec-30-01, 11:36 AM (EST) 5. "RE: SW1500 Re-paint, Finally." Thanks Mark for pointing that out. Checked my file and it was outdated. Went and d/l the newer version, and that distortion disappears. Guess I'll have to re-do my skin. Again thanks for a wonderfull addition to MSTS.WDC Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-30-01, 11:46 PM (EST) 8. "RE: SW1500 Re-paint, Finally." Norfolk Southern...anyone?Still a "work in progress"Either the black handrails,or yellow?...need opinions here.(nice ones).I would like to know what other skinners are working on?I attempted the gray, blue, yellow CSX sw1500,but ran into a problem with the "battery cabinet panels"on the side of the cab.So I left that one alone, although the the all"Gray"Csx sw1500,should be easier. What do ya think?

WDC!We're you able to convert the sw1500frnt.bmp into a .ace file?I'm having alot of problems with it.I may just have to leave it alone and leave the "standard" cab view. We're you able to make a new cabview? Dec-31-01, 08:09 PM (EST) 15. "RE: SW1500 Re-paint, Finally." HiThe cab view .ACE files were made from TGA files not BMP files. There must be an Alfa channel to see out of the windows. You use TGATOOL2 to send the image to your editor "edit it" and then reload the image to TGATOOL2 and resave it directly to an ACE file.Note that for the FRNT view there is actually two files, SW1500frnt.ace and SW1500frnt1024.ace the first file is 640X480 and the second file is 1024X768.Mark Toland Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
