Nov-20-01, 10:59 PM (EST) "Been away, working on Tribute set" Ok, I've been gone a bit; sorry...and had to reboot my system and DL most to a zip drive. That having been done; I've decided to begin making a "tribute" set.Tribute set?
Tribute to who? (i hear you asking) Well simply; in a grand tribute to Charles M Schulz who has now been gone from our wonderful world for two years. (Hard to believe)My set will be a series of boxcars; (Freeware so I can do things legally) Five cars will have the various snoopy appearances. IE WW1 Flying ace, Joe Cool, Writer, Helicopter Snoopy, and just regular Snoopy.Other cars will feature Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Rerun, and all the other characters.Ideally, this task will be completed on the anniversary of Charles death...Jan 1st 2000
Now, if you've been wondering what gave me the idea? Well it's odd. The other day I saw a csx boxcar that had a bit of graffitti CLEARCOATED over. The picture was of a sad looking snoopy saying "You'll be missed" and the caption Charles Schulz, Jan 1 2000. I asked some of the crew and they said that the car was treated that way with a great bit of reverence; though sadly she was being sent elsewhere and the tribute might not survive. (some other railroad had bought her) I should have gotten a picture.. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
