I have two questions1. What does it mean and what do I do when the editor tells me I have an activity or service out of date and need to resave?2. Why does the editor crash and show the send message to ms screen as soon as I try and select anything in the player service area. either new or edit? Thanks for any insight into this weird program...Gene
Hi,For number 1, the .trk or one of the main route has a modification date that is newer then that of the Activity file or Service file. For number 2, I have no clue. You have to come up with more details, what route, what version of the route, which Activity, etc.Dick van den Hoven

Do you have Route Control? If you don't....get it . It will help find this and alot more hidden problems. Also you may want to get Conbuilder if you don't already have it. This allows you to make consists without train sim. >weird program...Gene
My answer: for #1, I run into this all the time, just do as it says and save the activity.Any time I am ready to close the Activity Editor, I usually save the activity and then re-open it to see if I get this error - that way I don't get it when I run train sim.As for #2... who the hell knows?!? MSTS is still written to Microsoft's lofty standards. Try reinstalling.Aaron
Its quite easy. If you modify the route and save it that date is newer than the saved activities as a result the program will assume you can't do that and not allow you to run the activities. You see normally when you create a route the activity follows at a later time and not the other way around. You can fool MSTS by simply changing your system date to an earlier date when saving your route. If you have the error now then go to your computer...change the date to a date before the activity in question...save the route....change your system date back to the current date and run MSTS.
