May-26-02, 11:38 AM (EDT) "Activity Message Help Requested" When I attempt to load some activities I have been getting this message: The installed track database for this route is version 275. The activity was built on 140. Continue? Not sure if I should continue or should I update something. If so, what? Am I behind with an update? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Michael Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-26-02, 03:29 PM (EDT) 1. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" Hi Michael! If you get such a message, then your version of the route is newer than the one the activity was created for!It might work, but the activity must look very, very tempting to me before I should consider the chance of trying to install it!Because there is a great risk that it won´t work!!!An older activity and a newer route version is not a suitable couple as is the other way!Haraldh F. May-26-02, 03:51 PM (EDT) 2. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" Yes they willwork, most of the time. What I do is open the activity in the AE and then save, this updates the activity to the new track database. There are time you have to check the timetable and recalculate it for the player service. Not a big deal to do.Kevin Arceneaux

May-26-02, 05:13 PM (EDT) 3. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" That´s the way I do it too, as Kevin told!I forgot to add it in my answer above! That´s how to update an older activity worth being used!

May-26-02, 05:58 PM (EDT) 4. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" This means, I suppose, that the old version of the route is deleted? Or not?
Just another dumb question.

May-26-02, 10:00 PM (EDT) 5. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" Actually no, in most cases. If you have an activity for the default Marias and you downloaded and installed the first Marias update V 2.0 over the original you would get this message for all of the default activities. Following the above instructions using the Activity Editor will usually correct the problem. The main time it won't is if the route itself changed in some way so the path of the activity no longer follows laid track. An example would be an activity that uses a switch that was deleted in the upgrade.Sharon Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-26-02, 11:27 PM (EDT) 6. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" OK, so, let's say I have some activities from the PO&N v4, now I have the PO&N v5 also installed. How can I get an activity to show up in the v5 when it is not in that activ. folder?
Oh, wait a min, did someone say to copy it there first.
Wow, this brain is fast, only took 12 hours. lol.
Thanks Sharon,

May-30-02, 02:58 PM (EDT) 9. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" Just curious, how does one save/update in AE? Do you open the actual route folder and select an activity and then save? I'm thinking I may need to do the same, but not sure as to correct procedure to do this.Michael G Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-30-02, 11:12 PM (EDT) 12. "RE: Activity Message Help Requested" No there are a lot of track changes in each new version of the route so the paths are all broken. For that route you can only use activities for the specific version. The others will not work, the same goes for Rich's route and MP3.Kevin Arceneaux Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
