I read your earlier post concerning using reversing points to get interesting AI activitys in yards. I have tried several times now to get an AI yard job to come down one track, stop and reverse back up another track. I set a start point go past the switch far enough to fit the consist, place the reverse point, select take other path to get the consist to go through a switch, then put my end path point somewhere down this track. When I run the activity the consist moves to the reverse point, stops, then starts back going in the original direction, it won't reverse. Sharon Evans

RE: Longhairedwizard need some help

Is there a switch between the reverse point and the switch you want to "take other exit"? If there is, that will cause this effect. you need to have an open stretch of track between the reverse point and switch you want to back into. if there is enough room then its possible the reverse point is still to close to a switch thats past it. If you could post a screenshot of the path in question that would be alot more helpful. (just printscreen from activity editor, paste in microsoft paint and trim the pic to show just the "map" area.)LHW

RE: Longhairedwizard need some help

Did you put the second reverse point somewhere on the siding! I couldn´t get that out from your description! There has to be that second reverse point if you want the acticivity to continue! Otherwise it will end just as you mentioned!Read some of my answers above!

Haraldh F , here I am working on AI switching to be going on when the player train is nearby. So it starts reverses then ends.Sharon

RE: Longhairedwizard need some help

Hi Sharon! When you say "run the activity" do you mean: run it in the editor or open it in TS and run it "in reality"?Sometimes running it in the editor could bring some errors, which don´t appear when I really try it out in TS!Nothing of that kind?Haraldh

RE: Longhairedwizard need some help

I do know that running the "tester" in the editor will result in a few errors when it approaches reversal points. However, once you load the activity in the TS, no errors occur. Probably an editor bug.On reversals, I found out by putting double reversal arrows on the tracks in question, will give green lights in both directions. Basically it's like if you back into a siding, you'll have a reversal going to that siding (by choosing other exit). Then once on that siding, you'll have another going forward. Then I put another reversal going back to couple the original consist, then I put the reversal point way in the back on the other side of a signal that goes forward again. This will give you a green light before your "event" is even finished.I should make a few screen captures on how I do this. Ever since I do it that way, I never get a "permission denied"...at least 98% of the time.
