Ciao to everybody I like to know if anybody playing this act, after taking the second SD40, has experienced the brake coupler error on the car on the switch about mid train. I tried to cut the train by 2 but after that the signal was red with permission denied. Let me know. Ciao and TKS Tks again to the creators of this wonderful route and to all creating act for it. Just a wish: I like the old style diesels and steams : is it possible to have an act using old rolling stock? It would be far more challenging using all the power of a multiple mountain on the grade and be still at the limit!! Let me know if somebody agree with me Ciao Straccaletto
Hi there,I never had that problem, but you are the second person to mention it. I'm guessing, you are getting the dash9 in McConnelsville? As i'm redoing the activities to run with ORRR v8, i'm going to change that configuration to eliminate any possibility for that to happen. Enjoy!SkyRat
LAST EDITED ON May-11-02 AT 09:16 AM (EDT)Skyrat, I too experienced this problem and I think that this may be due to a MSTS bug (imagine that LOL)and not an activity design problem. You must leave your train before the first cross over switch. If you leave cars sitting on this switch I think the sim does something to it as you use the other switch to go and get the helper engine and that causes you to break the couplers (even with the break values set at 5)when you try to go forward. At least, that solved it for me. I have also experienced this same problem on a couple of MP3 activities, and by watching where I leave my train I avoid them there as well. I'm not so sure you have to rework the activity - maybe just rewriting the activity instructions will help avoid this problem.Ken
I succesfully completed the activity yesterday. No coupling problems so far.A complex mathematical problem to solve as most of SkyRat activities, mainly at Zannesville, but I enjoyed it much. After McConnelsville and the second loco, I came out before my schedule, only to find a front-to-front train which I crashed with. These distpatchers are sleeping sometimes I had saved, so I restarted and waited until I caught my schedule back.Curious is that at Zannesville I had to go back from Sub to Military what I consider a little bit unrealistic and too long for a middle train going back. I tried before otherwise only to find red lights that wouldn't come up green.Anyway, great and funny activity!
