I am writing my first activity, a commuter run for Sea View. It isn't as easy as I thought! Here's my first problem. The player train is supposed to leave Volcano Is. A couple miles down the track a siding joins the mainline. I have an AI train that is running along this siding, I want it to wait until the player train passes, then proceed on the main. I thought the player would get priority. In the "VCR" it appeared to work. But when I played the activity, I got to the switch and found a red signal. I waited, and sure enough the AI train showed up, rolled onto the mainline without stopping, and crashed head-on into my player train! (ouch!)How do I get the AI train to wait? Do I need to use passing points? Ideally I want the player to see the AI train waiting then proceeding after the player passes.TIA
Do you have the player train & that AI train starting at the same time?....try starting the AI train a few seconds after the player train, that may make the difference in giving the player priority. If that doesn't work, you also might try dropping a waiting point in the path of the AI on the siding. just enter 0 seconds for the waiting time as it will get reset anyway.LonghairedwiZard
I believe the AI train starts later. I had the train start out at a random point since it takes a while before the player train gets to that part of the track.SO, anyway, a waiting point of 0 duration will be enough to stop the train? I will have to try that. Also thinking of releasing the activity with just the player activity, then adding the AI traffic. There's not a lot of stuff for Sea View.
