Jan-03-02, 02:33 PM (EST) "AI trains sticking into opposite traffic" I have a slight problem. I have made my own route (it's crap, but I'm learning from it..) and while testing the first activity for it, I encountered a curious problem. When meeting AI traffic, they have busted the red light and are parked on my clear stretch of track, and the signals do not react to this. What may be wrong?I've moved the signals back, even changed swapped them from searchlights to stock BNSF interlocking.I put this in the activity design, but it probably is more a route design problem. Thanks anyway,Nicholas

Jan-03-02, 03:55 PM (EST) 1. "RE: AI trains sticking into opposite traffic" From the route design perspective you want to make sure of two things:1) red sensor is not on the switch section
2) when using ai trains, you should prefer to use automatic switchesFrom an activity design perspective, for starters, make sure you ai train is using the Begin Passing option through the siding.I'm gonna leave the rest up to two tutorials:Freeware: Lost in the upload files section is an activity tutorial cowritten by Lawrence Kellie, Paul DeVerter and myself.Payware: Again by Lawrence Kellie, Paul DeVerter and myself, is a more comprehensive discussion of activity creation addressing more of the question you asked in more detail at:www.trainsimulatorworld.comIt's $10 (US) I believe.Either one is fine if you ask me but I do like the payware version (not the same as the freeware version) because its written for novices, and it uses plenty of pictures to illustrate the points and it goes into more areas than the freeware version did.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-03-02, 07:14 PM (EST) 2. "RE: AI trains sticking into opposite traffic" Well, the plot thickens.I've added passing paths to both the player service and the AI service. That did not work. Then I moved the signals, changed the track sections, realigned the links, but still no change. The front end of the AI train ends up in the middle of the switch, which is not a manual one, it's a left hand 5 degree auto switch. So I'm rather stuck at this point, and seem to be running out of options. Thanks again,Nicholas
