Dec-16-01, 08:35 PM (EST) "Path Editor menu options not working?" HiI don't think I've seen this info posted so here it comes...For quite a while (months) I've been unable to select most of
the right mouse click menu opptions. I had define start and
end points but not much else. On broken paths, I had the red
line and could "rubber band" it but doing this did nothing.Yesterday (in desperation) I decided to attack the Registry! The item path:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- SOFTWARE
- Microsoft
- Microsoft Games
- Train Simulator
- 1.0
- HWRendererI DELETED (yes, deleted) the following two items:
- AE_Path_Edit_View
- AE_Path_Repair_ViewGuess what - all is working fine now! I can repair broken paths
and apparently everything else I haven't been able to do for a
while.I assume the cause was one of the many Activity Editor crashes
left the Registry with a strange value in it and it was just
giving up and not letting me use most of the options.Disclamer Follows!Back up your registry first! I assume no responsibility if this
procedure doesn't help you (or turns your TrainSim into a coffee
coaster) but it did solve my path problems. (I've been moving
mainline switches so I had many activities that failed due to
broken paths).Sure wish we had info for all TrainSim's Registry thingies
(technical term). GaryG

To test your suggestion, I created a new activity with a new path and then I marked one of the switches as broken. Then I "rubber-banded" the red line to another switch and deleted the swicht marked as broken. Works fine, my path now uses the other switch. But what is the point of this? I can do the same by selecting "take other exit". Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
