Dec-15-01, 04:23 PM (EST) "UP Lumber Activity" The the non-default downloads call for:UP Dash 9, BCR Woodchip Car, Mower Lumber Company Flats
The last one calls for mlfltv.zip, which you will not find, since it has been replaced with mlfltv10.zip
I'm going to jump over to MSTS and give this activity a try right now! Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-18-01, 08:42 PM (EST) 2. "RE: UP Lumber Activity" Since I'm a real big fan of the big yellow monster, I simply went in and changed out the UP power. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-19-01, 07:37 PM (EST) 3. "RE: UP Lumber Activity" the engine error...open the folder and you are missing a bunch of files.
copy the revalent ones from the Dash 9 and install.
If I remember right, all the sounds, and the dash was not present.

Dec-19-01, 08:09 PM (EST) 4. "RE: UP Lumber Activity" I solved the problem with the engine. I usually leave the folder name as the default name given to it by the author. This "default" name is given to the folder created by the unzipping process. This way, anyone else who downloads the same add-on files will be named the same as mine,...Hopefully. What I didnt do was follow the author's (of the UP dash9)suggestion for naming the folder...when I did the error disappeared. However, I then recieved an error for the BC woodchip car. Again, I had left it as the default name which caused the error. Then I went and renamed it following the author recommendation, But I still recieved an error. I then renamed it as the file mentioned in the error message itself and all is well now.As the Author of several activities requiring add-on files (PO&N coppertrain, PO&N SP Tanktrain), may I suggest a few things to prevent and future problems for those that download any activities that require add-on files. In your Readme file, include these 4 things:1. Name of rolling stock (as it appears at trainsim or other site) example: "Conrail GP-38"2. Name of Zip file as it appears at trainsim.com or other site:
Example "CR_GP38.zip"3. Where to find the download (particullarly if it cannot be found at trainsim.com) and include the URL. example "http://www.trainartisan.com/files.htm";4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Include the exact name of the file AS IT APPEARS UNDER YOUR "TRAINSET" DIRECTORY. This will ensure agianst errors and give the enduser the information required to "fix" any errors. example "Con_GP38"Also, for your own convenience, and to allow the enduser to "completely" remove all associated files (for whatever reason):Start all consists, services, paths, static consists, traffic with some type of prefix to help you easily identify those files associated with your activity. Example: for your UP Lumbertrain activity I might suggest:UP_LT Traffic 1 pathUP_LT Mixed Freight1 conetc..............BTW-once I got the activity working I found it to be very nicely done and most importantly....Fun!!!!!Longhairedwizardbbzak@msn.com
