Nov-29-01, 04:07 PM (EST) "Picking up Wagons" LAST EDITED ON Nov-29-01 AT 04:09 PM (EST)I want to pick up wagons within an activitie. But there is a problem: In the activitie I can't turn the switch (the thing where you make 2 tracks from 1) in the activitie. So it is impossible to pick them up. In the lerning mode (where I can drive the whole route without any traffic and so on. I can change the switches. So - why is it not possible to do it in my activitie? Nov-29-01, 05:04 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Picking up Wagons" I've got a couple questions for you.
Are the cars (wagons) your trying to pick up a static consist? (My guess is, yes)
Is the switch manual or automatic? (I'd guess automatic).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you just got MSTS.
If your new to this sim, Welcome. Have fun, and try to not pull all your hair out. You might need some to keep your head warm this winter.
I think, the best way to understand this sim is to learn the editors.
Beware, they are finnicky (is that spelled right?).
Just for the sake of getting a little more help, when you post a question, try to give as much info as you can.
It will help others to better understand your situation.
Just don't stop asking.
Most folks agree, we're here to help.
I'm usually not much help, since I'm still learning, but if I can answer a question, I will.
Good luck,
Hawk

Nov-29-01, 05:19 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Picking up Wagons" What I'm guessing from what you are saying is you got an automatic switch that leads to a siding. In the explore mode you are allowed to control automatic switches but not in any other mode. So the only way your going to get through that switch to the consist is to draw the path through the switch. Your going to have to be careful if you do this though.. because, if the static consist wind up on top of the path, and there's a signal along the path leading up to that switch, the dispatcher will see that consist on the path as an obstruction. Obstruction as in cow on the track, jackknifed trailer, woman tied to the track.. and the dispatcher will stop your train with a red signal and he won't let you through.Good luck!Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
