Nov-18-01, 08:43 AM (EST) "NEC 2.0 activities on default route?" I recently posted two CSX activities for the NEC at the A-Line site. I had them tested and got reports that they ran on both the default and the revised NEC. They were designed on the revised NEC. Now I've heard from someone who tried to run one of the activities on the default NEC and got error messages and a computer crash. Could someone here shed some light on this? Do activities designed on NEC 2.0 run on the default? Does it make a difference if you have AI trains stopping at some of Bill's new platforms? If anyone is brave enough to try it out, the activity is the 70's Juice Train at http://www.calmstorm.com/scl-csx/activity.htm Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

LAST EDITED ON Nov-18-01 AT 03:20 PM (EST)Does this replace your previous 70s juice train activity where the filenames did not jive with one another? Also is the "CSX local" the wintertime one that was done a few months ago by tulsarailfan? (enjoyed it immensely, BTW).Don Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-18-01, 03:42 PM (EST) 2. "RE: NEC 2.0 activities on default route?" Yes, Don, the newly posted Juice Train was reworked to make sure the folder/file names match with the new installer for A-Line engine downloads. There are a few additional challenges, plus a second shorter activity that takes about an hour (2 .apk's in one zip file), as opposed to the 2+ hrs to go all the way to Philly. The CSX local activity is indeed Steve Davis' (tulsarailfan) with a CSX A-line download engine substituted for Steve's Conrail. If you go to the site, you'll see credit to Steve prominently in the description. Steve was good enough to let me change a few consists and put it up. Thanks again, Steve.Still trying to figure out if it will run on the default NEC or not. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-19-01, 07:23 PM (EST) 4. "RE: NEC 2.0 activities on default route?" I was the one who emailed you with problems running 70juice on the default NEC. I just installed NEC 2.0 and 70juice runs fine. Could not figure out why it would not run on the default, so that was why I went to the 2.0 version. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-28-01, 10:39 PM (EST) 6. "RE: NEC 2.0 activities on default route?" I have only started the 70's Juice lite.
I doesn't crash MSTS, but it does give two error messages, which stop the loading of the activity:
Not verbatim:
1. Service 70psgrs6 using invalid platform. Both train items are invalid.
2. Service ((null)) using invalid platform. Platform name is wilmington 1.After I get rid of the error messages, I end up on the desktop with MSTS minimized. I click it and it continues to load the activity.Messages come up everytime you start the activity or load a saved game.Tony Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I have the same problems PLUS...My lead locomotive uncouples when I pass over the switch at mile 31 as I head to Philly. I have tried just about every speed I can from standstill, 10, 15, 25, 30, 45 and 58. Anything over 25 results in MASSIVE derailment.
