Nov-04-01, 04:31 AM (EST) "NS train #46k" I'm trying to run the NS Train #46K activity for the NEC, but I get an error that says, "No extended shape data for gp38.s" when I start the activity. I think the file has to do with a train I had to download to run the activity. When I keep clicking yes, I eventually get to the activity, but my train won't budge. Any suggestions? I was getting a bunch of other errors, but I was able to move some files from the download to other folders and those errors are fixed (i think). Please help cuz I wanna run some other activities and routes, but I can't figure out how. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-04-01, 01:14 PM (EST) 1. "RE: NS train #46k" The "No extended shape data for gp38.s" means that there is no file named gp38.sd to go along with the gp38.s file.Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-04-01, 04:44 PM (EST) 2. "RE: NS train #46k" I,ve had that same problem. What I did was go to the gp38 (or the loco that's giving you the error) folder and copy the .sd file and place it in the shapes folder in the trains directory. That solved the problem. You may have to do the same with the .s file.Try it out and let me know....Claude Debnam (Claude350) Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-04-01, 05:43 PM (EST) 3. "RE: NS train #46k" there are 3 different Conrail GP38's in the download section and that activity is probably looking for a certain one which might not be the one you have. there is a readme file that comes with that activity that should give the name of the zip file that you need to have.Longhairedwizard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-05-01, 08:33 AM (EST) 5. "RE: NS train #46k" Unfortunately, I have just installed several engines over the last week and the developers of those engines are not taking care with the readme file. I have read all sorts of instructions in the readme which do NOT work. In fact, it is very easy to see that the instructions were just copied from a previous readme file, because the names of directories/engines were complete wrong. In other words, the developer did NOT go through the readme file to correct the file.Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-05-01, 09:58 AM (EST) 6. "RE: NS train #46k" It is unfortuanate. This is why people have been so quick to criticize activities requiring add-ons. On the bright side, practically all of the recent add-on have been properly named, easy to install and bug-free (even coming with their own self-installer).We could use some new and easy to install conrail engines!!!Longhairedwizard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
