Nov-04-01, 03:52 AM (EST) "How do I "backdate" an activity?" Hi all,
I was trying to make a little variation of one of the default activities (Summer Express), but in such a way that it would use Pennsy-era equipment (GG-1, Alco PA/PB etc.).I have made a copy of the activity file under another name (file name sumrexpress1965 or something, but actually I set the new/old activity in the fall ), and I also made copies of the default "services" (with different names, of course, but still using the original "paths").However, when I swapped out the default consists for these services in the editor, I would still encounter only modern Amtrak stuff when I test-played this activity.I have also been trying to make a variation of the "ESE visits England" activity which was supposed to use a) the NSWGR 3801 plus cars, as well as b) modern British rolling stock for AI traffic. Same observation there, I'd still encounter only steam trains.Anybody have an idea what I might have overlooked?

After all Matts modified the default "Bridge Strike" and "After The Storm" actvities and replaced the default consists with his Swedish trains. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-04-01, 02:33 PM (EST) 4. "RE: How do I "backdate" an activity?" Well, I also know it can be done, because in fact I did once manage to swap out a default consist for a home-brewn one - obviously I forgot to write down how. Oh well, I guess I'll find out.One other interesting observation, though (thanks in part to Marc)...in the .TRK file there is, among others, a line that says "TrackGauge (0)". Hmmmmmmmm...DOES "The Game" support different gauges after all?
Anyway, if somebody could fresh up my mind about the consist thing, I'd be very glad!

Right below in the Activity Editor, you find the Traffic file. Edit it and you get a list of the Services it contains. Then replace each of these services with the services, you have created as replacements. You have this:
Activity (.act)

+-----(Player) Service (.srv)--Consist (.con)
