Sep-11-01, 05:20 PM (EST) "Consist (Rolling Stock list)" Is there a way of tidying up the rolling stock list. I have entries that appear twice and others that I have deleted, but still appear in the list. It also doesn't seem to list the items in any particular order which I don't like. Sep-17-01, 11:37 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Consist (Rolling Stock list)" Ok, I have a possible answer, but sadly it brings up my own questions.1. In the loco list, I noticed this problem with reskins, so I started looking at the files, and comparing them to engines that only appeared once on the list. I realised that the two engines that appeared twice both had extra .eng & .sd files, but only one .s file. I had followed the normal intructions for the download to the letter, and it had worked previously. What I came to find out was that some of the skins (in this case F-units) have the .eng & the .sd files already included, with the correct revisions already made, but you still have to copy and rename the .s file from the original model. To make matters worse, sometimes this file is present, but others are missing. I removed the extra files, and it fixed the problem.....on one of the engines. On the other, I never did get it right, but I know that has something to with it. Perhaps this has something to with the freight cars that are listed twice. I've got repeats there also, and reskins that show up as the original download (i.e. I have a CR open hopper and a RDG open hopper, but the picture for one shows on both even though the names are correct), ARRGGGH!2. To clean up the actual text list, get into the .eng files and look for the line-Name (" ")change it to what you'd like, thinking of course of some kind of standard system for naming (like ROADNAME/TYPE/NUMBER). This is how I did it with the F-units. I assume that it works the same for any engine, or freight car.Anybody got a clear answer on this???Perhaps instead of instructions on how to download everything (which can be overtly complicated), someone needs to make a list of what files are needed for a particular engine or freight car to work, and which of the files need to be specific to the equipment in question, which can just be generic copys from other equipment...
