Jun-12-01, 03:30 AM (EST) "Activities or Loco Problems?" I'm not sure if this is a problem with engines or with activities, but I have seen one or two other posts about it.When I create an activity using any "drivable" AI loco, the game freezes when I choose it from the drop down menu. If I go back and edit the axtivity with another loco on the consist it works fine. I have jago's new DRGW skins and am having a great time driving them around in Explore Mode, but I want to be able to use them in activities reeeealy bad. Same goes for the Genesis and default SD40. If they work in Explore mode, shouldn't they work in any activity?Help, somebody!! Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-12-01, 03:32 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Activities or Loco Problems?" I was just going to ask the same thing. I'm trying to use the BNSF SD40 in an Activity. The Activity works fine with GP38's including the GN skin. The minute I put the SD40 back in it, it locks TS when I click on the Activity from the pull down list. After it kicks me out of TS I go into the Activity Editor and pull up the Player Services and that’s when the messages start saying it can't find or there’s a problem with the .con file that has the SD40 in it. Please help I'm getting tired of only seeing GP38's and Dash 9's.Jerry

Jun-12-01, 08:11 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Activities or Loco Problems?" Bear in mind that the GP38 is a driveable loco to begin with. I do not edit default stuff with this sim (outside of paint schemes that is). It is probably best to set that up as a new loco rather than edit the default into a driveable one. Fewer potential problems.------- BUZZ Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-12-01, 11:44 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Activities or Loco Problems?" I was having the same problem while trying to create activities. I wanted to create an activity in Marias Pass with a passenger consist and the Genesis loco. Then I decided to try something. I noticed that at the end of the .eng file for the genesis it didn't have the info like on the Dash-9. The stuff about the loco itself. I decided to copy that info to the end of the genesis file and now I can run the activity and it doesn't lock. Later tonight I'm going to try the old genesis.eng file and see if it locks up again.Alex Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-13-01, 10:43 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Activities or Loco Problems?" Not a problem. I guess the activities need to have that info or the game doesn't know what to do and just crashes. Just glad it works Alex Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-13-01, 02:19 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Activities or Loco Problems?" I figured it out!!(well actually someone else did) I read on a post somewhere today that these engines were missing a piece of their .eng file...The description. All you have to do is copy the whole "description" section from a default loco into the .eng file of your drivable one in the appropriate place. If your brave and understand all the quirks of the formatting, you could even write your own description. Be sure to compare with a working file to get position and formating right..and as always make a back up of your original.Sorry, I couldn't find where I read that so that I can thank you personnaly. Been playing since 6:00 Pacific with no problems. Thanks again!Gandalf Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Craig Potts

I am having problems with the NS Thorogh Direct Service.
Evidently the CR GP38 which was downloaded from both sites is not working or the consists is not correct.Thank you! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
