Sep-03-01, 12:46 PM (EST) "Passing path, does work, when it does..." This is not a ringing endorsement of the passing path... but I created an activity where I was able to narrow down to one siding where two opposing trains would do a stalemate; one in the siding (mine), the other trying to enter but doesn't even though a lane is free (AI). I've done several of these in my route, and a couple of times I didn't use the passing path. Well, this time I needed to. It would not work until I did. Beats me. I placed the start points as far as way as I could, past the two sets of signal rule, and as close as I dare. The unpredictability of signals is zero. Never saw a pattern. Although one time I thought I did. It was looking like, if one AI train had a clear path to its end point, then it took priority. If not, then your own train takes priority. But I could never prove this. Here's something else... I think the broken point is so you can edit out markers in part of your route. I placed a waiting point on a route and needed to get rid of it, but it wouldn't let me. Not knowing what else to do, I stuck in a broken point, and it erased all references of the waiting point. Then I removed the broken point or I did something but everything was fine after that. ????? Beats me again....Waiting point. I know some of you had success with it. I'm having success placing them, watching them operate correctly in the editor test thingy... but on the actual route... they wait maybe a fraction of the time, if they do even that. Hard to tell because the engine is at a distance. Any ideas? Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I read somewhere that the last thing you do in the activity editor is place a waiting point. Then save it. I've tried it and it worked for me. But the next time you edit something the waiting point reverts back to 2 seconds. So I guess you should put waiting points in at the very last. Regards

So somehow they must've gotten the things to work, beats me. I'll give that a try, thanks! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
