Aug-29-01, 09:57 AM (EST) "sharing the main line" I pretty much completed my route and I'm creating activities. I put the BNSF signals on my route. I have a 10 mile run with a couple of passing sidings I created.I created a AI controlled train which goes through this 10 mile stretch with no problem. Then, I added my own train using the same stretch coming from the opposite direction and I ran the route, no problem.Problem: With the AI train coming from its direction, and mine coming from the opposite direction, neither wants to run now. Actually they both go a short distance and the signals go red. This happens in the Activity test, as well as virtual real life run. There's enough signals and passing sidings plus the ten miles between us. I'm at a loss why the trains just stop. I tried the tab keep but the dispatcher only tells me 'denied.'I read some earlier posts and saw a remark that someone got this to work by adding 'passing siding' to the path. Is this what I need to do? And do I need to add one for each passing situation? In this 10 mile run there's two passing sidings.Appreciate any help!

Aug-30-01, 10:04 AM (EST) 1. "RE: sharing the main line" I found this solution. I originally set my route up for all manual switches. By replacing the two manual switches with automatic switches, the meet works. Upon approaching the meet I was getting a yellow indicator, which before, had always been red. When I got close enough to the passing sidings I could see the other train was stopped in the passing siding. I proceeded on through the yellow and observed the other train starting up after I was safely through the signal and on it went. Very cool!I should say I had already placed in the activity for the AI train a passing path. I thought the passing path was what was needed to get the AI to realize a meet would take place. As noted in earlier posts, deleting a passing path is a pain. So I haven't. I'm thinking, by using the passing path, you are telling the AI which leg of the siding you want the AI train to take. I'm only guessing at this point. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
