Aug-27-01, 01:22 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Adding a speed restriction" i'm assuming you are familiar with the activity editor.
you can do this on the 2d map after opening the activity you want.
zoom to the area you want.
right-click on the spot of the track you want the restriction to start.
er..wait, i have to go check it so i dont tell you wrong.
ok, back.
when you right click on the track a box comes up with 7 possible things to do. only top three should be darkened. others grayed out. these are "place consist", "place location event" and "define restricted speed zone(start)".
left click that one. sets a small red flag. if you then just move your cursor arrow (without clicking anything) either way a red line appears. you left click where you want it to stop. if you right click at the end of the line a small box comes to cancel.
now, a couple of things.
1. if you dont like where you put it, right click on the start point (red flag) and hit delete. gone.
2. as you make them you can see the "reduced speed zone" numbers at the bottom of the editor screen increase.
3. the red line wont go thru switch points. only works clean unbroken track.
4. doesnt seem to work on sidings (rats!). the restriction lines show up as you place them there, but dont get saved at exit.
5. i dont know how to change the actual speed (15)....yet!
hopes this helps.

Aug-28-01, 02:56 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Adding a speed restriction" Denny, you can change the restricted speed in the route editor under properties, unless you mean changing them to individual different speeds. If you already knew this .. sorry, but thought I'd make sure. RobertR Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-29-01, 07:00 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Adding a speed restriction" I believe you can place the restrictions by using milepost markers and indicating reduced speeds on the information tab. This won't show up on the track monitor display as a red marker however... but the numerical speed indication will change.
