Aug-25-01, 07:57 AM (EST) "Passengers loading" This is really boring: I cannot load passengers. Train stops exactly at the right point (00:00). From Wash. to New Carrollton. I suppose it has something to do with an action event or location event. Can anyone give me the exact steps for this, please? Or do you need more information, just tell me. Aug-25-01, 10:17 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Passengers loading" Do you have the "Next Station Window Open" "Function Key F10 turns it on/off" You need to have this window open to load/unload passengers. When you stop at the platform, watch the bottom of the "Next Station Window", it will display a message saying press enter to load passengers and to the left of the message will display a countdown of the time remaining until you can depart the station. I hope this helps answer your question
enjoy and have fun,

Aug-25-01, 12:58 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Passengers loading" No, I'm sorry but it is not that easy. I have that window open. But the messages you ment doe not appear. Only the message that 0 miles are left.. Can you tell me something about the action- and location event? Because I suppose that that might be the problem. Aug-25-01, 01:59 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Passengers loading" A problem may be that your consist is not capable (at the least not the way it's been defined in MTST) to carry passengers. You might try the Japanese Kiha to see if it works ok with that one.
You must have a 'carriage' type of wagon (check the .wag files) or the loc must have a line stating it's passenger capacity.
Also there should be passengers available at the stop (right click the blue line in the editor and choose 'properties', you can overrule the deafult number of passengers there) Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-25-01, 03:54 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Passengers loading" You were right!!! My consist does not fit. I tried Acela and it all works fine, so far. What to do with the .wags- files? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-25-01, 06:14 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Passengers loading" I'm not sure but I think it's this line (the second, in fact) that tells MSTS that this is a passenger car:Type ( Carriage )If this line would say Type ( Freight ) that could cause the problem... Aug-27-01, 00:45 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Passengers loading" I am having the same problem. I have a route of my own wherein I can set up an activity calling for stops at all (or any) of the stations. When I arrive at a station, the F10 window changes to read "stationary", but the "Press Enter" message never appears, and the "unloading time" starts out at zero. I am using a single Series 2000 electric car. When I defined the platforms, I set them for minimum 30 seconds and 20 passengers. I went into the L1 route and activities, and I cannot find anything in those platforms or activity settings that are different from mine. Any suggestions? Aug-27-01, 02:56 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Passengers loading" Yep. It's a bug in the engine file that makes MSTS think that you're driving a loco without passenger capability. So either take an extra wagon with you or edit the engine file to contain this line (copied this one form the Kiha31):PassengerCapacity ( 40.0 )
