Aug-23-01, 05:56 PM (EST) "Marias Pass Ver 2.0" All those who have created passenger Activities prior to downloading Ver 2.0, must upgrade their Activites in order for them to load and work. The recent Glacier Park Activity is OK.
Evidently, the route Design of the oprigial Marias Pas Ver 1.0 was not designed for PAX Activities being there were too many stations and the Activity Designers were not consistant on what station locations to use. I am going to try and correct somne of the activities, however due to copyright laws, I will not be able to up load any corrected versions. That is left to the the Activity Creator.Alex

Aug-25-01, 08:03 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Marias Pass Ver 2.0" One more thing when uploading an activity to Marias Pass plse specify what route you used when designing it. So we know if we can use it.ThanksAlex

Aug-26-01, 09:13 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Marias Pass Ver 2.0" There are a lot of good reasons for updating an activity for the Marias Pass 2 route. Besides passenger stops, another issue is the timing of AI traffic. Since the speed limits and signal positions have been corrected in 2.0, many of the carefully planned and timed meets no longer work. This would be the case for long haul freight activities as well.I'm going to add a version of my Empire Builder Westbound activities which uses MP 2.0 very soon. And, my thanks to Bob Siederer for taking the time and effort to produce this excellent update to the route! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-26-01, 04:43 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Marias Pass Ver 2.0" I will be waiting for your Activity. The MP Version 2.0 really makes the route more realasitc. Being MSTS was created overseas, one would have to expect the oddiities of the American Railroad System.Alex Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-26-01, 05:22 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Marias Pass Ver 2.0" What ever you do. Back up your files 1st. I tried to install this ver 2 route and it crashed my game install. Wouldn't even let me uninstall it. Had to delete the entire trainsim directory and reinstall. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-26-01, 08:51 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Marias Pass Ver 2.0" I believe I have found a solution. There will be 2 Marias Pass Routes on the Simulator. I am going to Beta Test what I have done, and see what happens. I have already done x to 25th power worth of complete insallations so one more won't kill me. The important part is that future activities will have to specify what version of Marias Pass it was created. Upon fianalizing the details, all activities will be able to be played. There were too many to try to attempt to "modernize" to Ver 2.0. Bob Siderer, the creator of 2.0 will contact me we can figure out how to upload is revision to trainsims. I don't want to infrige on his rights. Bob, my email address is scanlpr@usit.netAlex
