'lo, all:I've done several searches of this forum and have gone through the help files but nowhere can I find out how to rename a saved activity - or even if it can be done.I'd really appreciate it if someone who's done it would let me in on how to do it - I hate going by dates alone.(Of course, ...I'm referring to the "drive a train" activities - not those already with a name.)10Q

"RE: Renaming saved activities" You can make a copy of an Activity file under another name -- say a copy of 'abc.act' as 'xyz.act' (using Windows Explorer or My Computer). The associated traffic pattern, services, paths, and consists will initially be the same for both of these Activities. In order to make a modified 'xyz' Activity, you can go and change the traffic patterns, services, etc. You will probably want to work on the new services, paths and consists as templates rather than the originals. Then Save (or Calculate & Save) the modified xyz Activity. You can do these modifications in the Activity editor. You could also tweak the parameters in the .act, .srv and .pat files by manipulating them in a Unicode-compliant text editor if you feel confident enough about what to do. With a little study, you will be able to figure out the structure and content of these files. Be careful, though, and make back-ups as you go along.
