Aug-17-01, 11:24 PM (EST) "Path Editor Woes..." Hey All,I haven't been using the Activity Editor much b4 but I'm stuck on the Path Editor. I was doing an activity for Marias Pass which goes from Whitefish to Essex. I put Whitefish as my starting point in that box and Essex as the Ending point in it's box, it then says that I haven't put in a start point! I PUT IN WHITEFISH!!! What's wrong? This has happened many times already!-Matt -----------------------------------------------------------------

>-Matt I assume you mean you are entering text into the small path editor window. These are just for you reference. They dont have anything to do with where a path starts or ends. You must place a start point in the MAP window.
In the map window enlarge the map view ( ctrl+down arrow) or (hold right mouse button as you drag mouse down) of where you want the activity to start. then place mouse pointer on the track where your route will start. Right click, select Place Start Point. You will see a green line hopefully heading in the right direction, if not click again and select Toggle start direction.
It gets much more involved from here on. It took me two months of foaming at the mouth to figure this stuff out. Not fun.
Do yourself a favor and buy the Sybex manual.Vince Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Path Editor Woes..." another point: in the small path editor box that pops up when you start a new path, calls for a start point and an end point location. list a milepost or a track number or something as simple as "start" and "stop". altho whatever you do type in will appear onscreen when you find your activity under "drive a train".
