Aug-17-01, 01:14 AM (EST) "Port Ogden & Northern" Has anyone tried to build an activity for the new Port Ogden & Northern route? I downloaded this route today and it is great. However, when I try to place AI trains into my new activity, the move just a few feet and stop. There are no signals in the current version of the route. Could this make my AI trains stop because the route is all one "block"? Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I didn't try to put signals in cuz I wanted it to be playable without the "activity ended because you went through a red light" garbage when you stop and back up thru a signal that should'nt have been red in the first place. Some other guy was gonna fool around trying to put signals on just the parts of the mainline that you wouldn't be doing switching activities on anyway, I forget who he was. i fooled around trying to make AI traffic on it in the early days, and found that AI trains go wherever they're supposed to as long as they don't have a switch set against them, and after all the frustration of trying to create and run switching and way freight activities and not being able to throw the switches, I was bound and determined to have only manual switches so you could go anywhere. You gave me an idea, tho, and maybe on future versions I'll play around with crossovers that don't actually connect into the main route for AI traffic. That is, unless this other guy comes up with a signal sysyem that actually works right. I haven't tried that hacked version of Marias Pass with all manual switches, anybody know if the signals work right in that one? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Signals and AI traffic would be great, but yep nothing worse than having to back up and going through a red light by accident I might have a go at signals, though not promising. It depends on the amount of nagging my son gives me
