Jun-03-01, 04:35 PM (EST) "passing on routes?" In the activity editor, I noticed a feature called 'create passing point' (or something to that effect). It appears weakly documented, though, the instructions didn't seem clear on how to properly use it. Maybe this would be a good topic to include in any future help guides that some clever person might post? This feature seems pretty important, since I noticed the the AI dispatcher tends to become confused if there are two trains moving towards each other on the same line--I ended up waiting for 30 minutes at a stop signal last night, wondering if the dispatcher would ever clear it, and nothing happened (I did try using the 'Tab' key to no avail). So I went back to the activity editor and removed all AI trains moving along the same line as my train, and it worked fine after that. I should think that the passing feature might have helped though, so I'm curious to see if anyone has some pointers on how to use it... Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-04-01, 04:10 PM (EST) 1. "RE: passing on routes?" I had the same problem that my signal would not clear ater a meet. I knew there were no more trains coming (a custom activity). I decided I may be too close to the signal so I backed up about 20 feet and then the signal cleared! I had noticed that on a few signals, they drop to red before the head end passes. Jun-05-01, 03:25 PM (EST) 2. "RE: passing on routes?" To use the Create Passing Point - when you are creating a path, right click on one of the points where the siding meets the mainline. Click the Create Passing Point option (as i'm sure you've already guessed). The siding will be highlighted. To see if this has an effect on the interaction between your train and one of your AI trains, use the Play option on the map in the Activity editor. You can speed it up to 128X if you want to see it go by faster. That way, you can see what effect (if any) the sidings have. I think they actually will help.----- BUZZ Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
