Aug-14-01, 08:44 PM (EST) "Using consists as templates!!" I stumbled on to this procedure after getting great help from steve davis regarding reverse points. it seems that the spot that the reverse point is placed has to be farther away from a switch or signal than the length of the consist making the reverse move.here's what i've come up with which may be something everyone else is already doing, and if so just let me ramble. my intentions to share may cover me.i'm making temporary consists of every portion of the user train and using them as templates next to the switch or signal so i can clear the switch or signal and not have to go far down the track to trip the reverse point.i start with the loco; then the loco and the first pickup attached and so on all the way thru the scenario. i just "park" them out of the way during the actual runthru. i can delete them from the track later. i found i can really fine tune the moves to work well and look authentic.i dont know if the rest of you are experiencing this, but when i go to the path edit i lose the consists that ive placed where i want to make the reverse point. but when i "grab" the top heading of the path edit window, the consists re-appear. so using that i place the upper corner of the path edit window right at the spot i want the point to be and the consists disappear but i can still set my mark.i hope this is somewhat clear and if your all not already doing it, that someone can use it too.denny
