Aug-12-01, 06:49 PM (EST) "Doesnt anybody have a suggestion or answer??" As to why I am unable to use hacked AI locos as the player service in an activity. If I create an activity using the hacked Marias Pass box, LMS Royal Scot etc, TS crashes when you try and select the activity from the start menu. If I use an existing useable activity, and replace the player service with one of the hacked locos - same result. What need to be done to make them useable. They work perfectly in "Explore", but not in activities. I am getting desperate....Somebody...anybody...??OZ

Aug-18-01, 00:12 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Doesnt anybody have a suggestion or answer??" I think you need to go over your.eng file with a fine tooth comb. Compare it to a regular drivable loco of the same type to be sure there are no vital lines missing. The only former AI loco I have used in an activity is the Amtrak Genesis, and it was missing description and name values in the .eng file. This caused a problem in activities, but not in explore. TS seems to be very paerticular about syntax...at least it's a starting point. I will try to do an activity eith one of the other locos tonight or this weekend. Will let you know if I succeed or if this is another "Opportunity" for development. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-18-01, 00:27 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Doesnt anybody have a suggestion or answer??" I have just attempted a quick activity with one loco (the BNSF SD40) which had an engine description in the .eng file and one with an engine (the Royal Scot Player) that did not. The Royal scot crashed the game, but the SD40 worked. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-20-01, 11:54 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Doesnt anybody have a suggestion or answer??" Cheers for your responses. I see somebody has just uploaded some replacement eng files for use in activities, so I will see how they work. If not, the naming is something to have a look at. Obviously it doesnt take much to screw it completely...
Cheers guys...OZ Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
