Aug-09-01, 06:20 PM (EST) 1. "RE: New World Activity Uploaded" I have been having problems with the Route. Prior to loading, there is nothing missing. However, upon loading the route and activity, the EL F7 comes up missing eventhough it is there. Also, your route after following all instructions ands also loading the other files in the Template, there are still a lot of missing files. I havetried a half a dozen times. Anyone found an sucess with this?Alex

Aug-09-01, 07:57 PM (EST) 2. "RE: New World Activity Uploaded" It sounds like you have a few issues.
First installing the route.
After unzipping the route you will need to copy from ALL 6 original routes, the following folders.
Sound,Shape,Terrtex,Texture. When you get an overwrite message, click on "yes to all". If you want to hear the conductor say "OK to proceed", make sure the ingame.sms file from the USA1\sound is the last sound folder copied.
That should give you a working new world route.
The route will not show up in the "Drive a train" options unless at least one activity is available. As far as the EL F7 problem, you need to follow the instructions in el_f7a.zip file.
Here is where the problem occurs. The creator of the F7 places the files in "ELF7A" folder.
The creator of the newworld.zip activity is using "EL_F7A" as the folder.
You have 3 options
1. The easiest, but most space consuming, would be to have both folders with both engines with both name (e.g. ELF7A and EL_F7A).
2. Change the default engine installation to the folder required in the activity
3. Change the folder in the consist files of the activity to match the default engine installation.I hope this helpsBy the way. I did not create either the route (James Hunt did) or the newworld.zip activity (Ingvar Toren did).
I created the OL-Local activity which uses all default equipment.Good luck Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-09-01, 10:21 PM (EST) 3. "RE: New World Activity Uploaded" Tacatania,
Your best bet is redo the whole route. Start fresh. Do more work on the route before adding more activities. Without a route, the activities are useless. Also one has to use the exact
wording of if downloading a consist. MSTS refuses the change when your activity is loaded. The best way is to do the route and activity yourself; and then try it out before uploading.
Thank you!Alex

Aug-09-01, 11:33 PM (EST) 4. "RE: New World Activity Uploaded" Alex,
Your first post in this thread was about problems with the New World route and the EL_7A activity. I had nothing to do with either of these.
I am not having problems with any of these.
This Thread is about the Ottawa-London Local activity, which I created.

Solved the problem with the route and your Activity runs great.
However, going to the first station going through the 2nd tunnel, I think, there is a "scenery blockage within the tunnel". You just drive through it and continue.
With the route, there was a problem with the Copy and Paste command within Route US2. I had to do the missing files individually. BTW, still problems with the EL F7A\El_F7A in the New World Activity.Alex Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-10-01, 04:58 PM (EST) 6. "RE: New World Activity Uploaded" I glad you like the activity.
The blockage was there when I downloaded the route. If I knew how to get rid of it, I would.
The ELF7a MUST be in the EL_F7A folder and the .s, .sd and .eng files need to be EL_F7A Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I have done some investigating into the EL F7A and after following all directions with the skin, only the 3D F7A Demo appears in the consist editor not the EL 7A. So I suspect the problem is with the skin. Alex
