Aug-08-01, 03:11 PM (EST) "How Do I Create My Own Automated Introductory Route Activity?" I've seen various posts on ways to create activities which mimick the "Explore Route" option in MSTS but I haven't seen anything, either here in the forums or in the CD docs that covers creating an "Introductory Train Ride" type activity like those presented at the start of the simulation. I'm tired of tweaking the canned intoductory ride activities and I'd like to build my own for a test route I'm working on. I'd also like to include a picture on the presentation screen as well, just like the canned routes use. Any comments, help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have been successful in deleting AI Trains, but if I try to add AI trains, all AI trains disappear in stead.. a shame since I'd love to add the Empire Builder to the Marias Pass Introductory Train ride... I've been having problems with my ISP and I haven't been able to get back online for a while. To answer your question, I've never tried to change the default AI traffic patterns for the introductory ride activities. I've focussed on having the introductory ride operate different locomotives of my choosing with various types and lengths of cars in tow, as opposed to the canned locos setup by default for the different routes. I did this so I could enjoy the passenger perspective of a route without having to worry about the mechanical issues associated with operating the locomotives, especially for the steam engines. Sep-01-01, 12:49 PM (EST) 3. "RE: How Do I Create My Own Automated Introductory Route Activity?" I finally succeeded in creating ITR / Introductory Train Ride-style activity.
The solution for me was to create an activity as usual with the name "itr_e1_s1_w1_t1.act" for the selected route.
Then load the act file into a text editor and change the Mode (..) line to Mode ( 0 ) and save.
It works for me.
