Aug-02-01, 02:39 PM (EST) "Un-Couple Problems Marias" Hi all,
No doubt I am asking an old question, but I am new to this.
In trying to create an activity between Shelby and Blackfoot, I arrive at Cutbank OK, that is until I try to cross the road crossing at the bottom of the down grade into Cutbank. Admittedly, my full consist is large, but it does'nt seem to matter, the Loco's, or the carriage behind, un-couple on the road crossing, speed has no effect, but if I just go with the loco's alone I can just get across. Is this something you guys know about, or is it something I'm not doing right, would love to know ??? Please ???
regards,

You can get around it in your activity by running your path around the trouble spot, i.e. use the other track until you've passed it.Alternately, I've heard of folks trying to edit the route file to fix the track itself, but I'm not sure if there's a specific way to get this to work, and even if there is, you won't be uploading it with your activity (if you're planning to upload, that is; if not, fixing the route may be your best bet).Regards,
Dave

I'm happy to know that I'm not being thick. I'll try a re-routed path, Ehem, any news about a fix ?
kind regards,

Aug-02-01, 03:14 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Un-Couple Problems Marias" it is solvable by editing the route files. the problem is the crossing gate stands in the middle of the track. although it is not visible in the game. it still causes the train to uncouple Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-02-01, 03:17 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Un-Couple Problems Marias" Oh, don't we wish. Seems like MS is fairly quiet regarding anything that isn't publicity oriented. There are some tiny tidbits on www.microsoft.com under their Knowledge Base (search for "kbTrainSim"), but none that appear too helpful to the problems that most people are facing (like the Cutbank problem).Sigh. If we just had a good train sim with Auran's responsiveness and openness. Oh, wait, in December, we will!Dave
