Hi,I'm fooling around with making myself an activity for the reworked Cajon Pass Route (which, by the way , is excellent). Can someone tell me how to "turn off" the setting in this route that automatically ends the game if I "fail to provide adequate protection for level crossing"? I've noticed that most routes do not include this feature.Doing this gives me a greater appreciation of how much work it takes to create a decent activity within the limitation of MSTS. Those of you that do this are to be congratulated!Regards, James

RE: How To Turn Off Level Crossing Penalty

On way is to load the route into the route editor and change the crash probability of each level crossing to 0%.Regards,Eric

Eric,That did the trick. Thanks! I can see that I had better get a copy of the Guide to MSTS Activity Building before I go much further. These are deep ( and troubled?) waters to swim in without a chart .Regards, James

I really hate to fool around in there, but I tried anyway. I couldn't find the crash probability entry, could someone please show where it is in the route editor. Thanks.Mike

RE: How To Turn Off Level Crossing Penalty

Select the ORANGE box at the crossing you want to change.
Hit F6 to open the properties of the object.
This is where you change the crash prob., warning distance, etc.JBD

RE: How To Turn Off Level Crossing Penalty

Gee and to think I knew everything there was to know about MSTS. You can actually have a level crossing incident?????????????I purchased MSTS within the 1st year it was out, and never had this happen. Sure I've had derailments, couplers, etc. A crossing accident would be a 1st for me.Learn something new every day!SeanFor information on ALL Multi-Player sessions current or under development for MSTS/TD3 visit...

RE: How To Turn Off Level Crossing Penalty

I tried it and I didn't do well at all! It's hard to follow the tracks and when I found the crossing, I was able to change the setting but I also deleted a telephone pole! It was a mess. Not going in there again.Mike

RE: How To Turn Off Level Crossing Penalty

Oh, come on! It's not THAT hard. Use the arrow keys to navigate, CTRL + arrow keys gives more options for directions.Put your mouse on the orange box, click ONE time then hit F6. It's not rocket science, Mike. If you accidentally delete something, exit RE and chooe NO when asked to "save world changes". If you do frequent saves you won't have a problem.....Word of warning: You can also find yourself penalized with "inadequate crossing warning" if you don't sound your horn early and long enough once you raise crash probability above 0%. Also if you change every single crossing's C.P. you'll never survive an activity! I would only do this on 3 or 4 crossings in a route MAX!JD

Jim,I know, I'm a baby! I must admit it was neat seeing how a route is put together. I just didn't know I deleted the pole or how I did it. thanks for the advice.Mike
