was a small copper mining railway on Vancouver Island in the late
1800's . They used Shay locos for the steep grades and tight curves.{narrow gauge}. One part of the route consisted of three switchbacks
up to the top of a mountain and then on to Crofton. The ore was
concentrated in Crofton and shipped to Tacoma.
Are there any activities like this?
Start at the bottom of the hill with 10 loaded cars.
Each switchback would have a different length and grade.
Each grade you could pull some part of the 10 cars.
The idea is to see how fast you can get the 10 cars to the top of the hill.
We could even start a competion, for best time .
Dash-9 narrow gauge.
Just an idea.
