Hi folks, Wondering if it is possible to have opposing AI trains pass each other on an unsignalled route. Knowing MSTS I would be surprised if selecting the passing tracks as passing points in the editor would simply do it!! Anyone tried to do this before? thanks, BB
Yes its possible to have AI traffic on unsignalled routes. It takes more time to do but use short AI paths and double reverse points " as pointed out to me by Andre".I've been making some for the Blackfoot Sub and in the file library Andrew Pickell has a switching activity for that route.Just Rollin Down The Tracks Dale
Hi Dale, Thanks for responding. I usually like to have an activity set up as the "timetable" and have all the timetable trains in there. Then I use that timetable as the template for my activities and sometimes set up an activity using one of the timetable trains as a player train etc. However, I guess I cannot do that w/o a signal system for the dispatcher to stage all these timetable meets. So I guess I will have to manually put in all "timetable" trains just running a short section of the line around my player activity as you have suggested. How lifelike! thanks, BBPS. The other thing making me crazy is that I assumed that manual switches meant manual switches. When I go along the route and switch into a siding, once my train is clear of the switch, the switch automatically throws back to the normal position ( for the main line, which is OK). But then about 5 or so seconds later, it flips back for the siding and my backspace G will not put it to normal. IF the switch is supposed to be manual, why won't my backspace G work? Another MSTS "innovation"?
