Ran into another problem on an simple activity I created. (This happened before on the default MP route also) After I place all the consists on the sidings and spurs to pick up (in the AE "place consist" feature), I have one that I cannot couple onto! The driver train stops DEAD about two feet away from the consist on the siding, and at the same time all my air brake sounds start to activate. Anyone ever experience this? Strange. I am able to couple onto other consists in the activity. If you would like to see what I mean, I have some screenshots posted over at the "screenshot forum" named "Lehigh Valley Slatington Local Switching" and you will see that I left two empty gondolas in the scrap yard because I could not couple to them!! Thanks for any responces...
It probably is a Bounding Box problem on some of your stock... Press 'Shift' (or Ctrl...memory gone..) and'+'(numpad) and you'll see a red box around objects. If this box is bigger than your loco/wagon...you have a problem, but easily sorted. Get 'BBoxEdit' from this site..that should do it..!! If it isn't that then I'll also want to read the answer.. Georges
Thanks Georges for your response. When I press "shift" and the "+"...is that in the AE or when the activity is running? During the AE all those two keys do is zoom in the map??
During an activity..or in Explore mode if you know how to place stock as loose consist... Try Shift + and/or Ctrl +....can't remember which now.!!! Georges
Thanks Georges for that great info. I downloaded "BBox" and found that those two gons were out of whack. I adjusted the parameters to an acceptable limit, but I still could not couple onto them. I then went into the AE, and moved the two gons off the curved track of the spur, and into a straight track section and WHALA!! I was able to couple onto them! Dont know....maybe on that one spur you have to place the consist on straight track??????? I experienced that before on the default Marias Pass......I believe around Columbia Falls..(Maybe Kalispell branch) Thanks again Georges and happy simming!
Pleased it worked... You might find that in sharp curves the BB still touch at the corner on the inside of the curve...reducing the length in BB helps. As a rule I take approx 0.40m off EACH end...!!! Georges
