I have made an activity where i am in an AEM-7 and am diverted to the middle track a few miles north of New Carrolton on the default NEC. The diversion is due to an express train passing me on the southbound main. When I pull up to the red just south of New Carrolton (its the next interlocking from the station) the train passes. When the Acela train hits the next block, the aspect should change to approach, but it never changes (i have left the computer for over an hour and it wont change and i get a permission denied messege when i request pass). Does anyone know how to solve this?Note: I got the train to pass me by the use of 2 direction changes just prior to the signal bridge.

RE: Perminant Stop Signal
did you try backing up like an inch and then going forward? or even release the brakes and let the air system recharge maybe you'll roll enough to trip it. MSTS siginals are stupid. Maybe the new TATS or TMTS will fix some of these problems. -Dave
Corey, Dave solved what I think may be the problem if you used double reverse points to make it work, but rather than rolling back, you might try easing forward a bit to 'wake up' the signal. Sometimes you have to do this before the AI has completely passed and sometimes after it has passed, but one or the other will usually work if everything else is kosher.RobertR .. I rolled forward after rolling back and crept up to it untill i coudnt see it through the windshield. Im being passed by an acela at pretty high speeds so to roll forward while its passing would be pretty difficult. Thanks
Corey, if you rolled back first, then rolled forward that will give you a permanent red for sure. Try waiting until it has passed before rolling forward, although that may not work either. I usually stop far enough back (assuming you have the double reverse points back aways) to leave some room to wake up the signal. Sometimes it needs it, sometimes it doesn't, but I can't find any definitive pattern to it.RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com
