Jul-29-01, 01:57 AM (EST) "IN-TRAIN FORCES" I've created my consists, set the durabilty slider all the way to the right for all cars, and know matter how slow I couple, I always get the error message IN-TRAIN Forces have been exceeded. How can IN-TRAIN Forces be exceeded when I make the coupling at 1 mph? Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-29-01, 08:00 AM (EST) 1. "RE: IN-TRAIN FORCES" I've noticed this too. There seems to be a bug in MSTS with this setting ... if you set the in train forces a little to the LEFT of all the way to the right, you won't have this problem. I haven't tried all the way to the left so I don't know if the slider is actually backwards, but there does seem to be an issue, even with the activities included w/ MSTS, with this setting. Try it 95% to the right and see what happens. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-12-01, 11:08 PM (EST) 4. "RE: IN-TRAIN FORCES" The effect of changing the skill level has been reported before. I know I have ass-u&me-d that the skill level relates to the overall difficulty of the activity. I think we know that is generally not true now.Interestingly, as I posted below in "Durability bugs also," I got some strange in-train forces readings on one of my Essex Turn test runs. So I asked my testers to send me copies of their evaluations. One of my testers (not the one with the head-on) sent me his--it was PERFECT, no exceeds forces notes, exact same activity file. There are some strange things going on inside computers with MSTS. "RE: IN-TRAIN FORCES" 1) There's a broken switch near Cutbank that, from what I've heard, always produces these problems, (even a broken coupler message when just using 1 light engine!)2) I've seen problems where I'll get the long list of durability problems, I'll quit and reload the app, continue to get them, quit and reboot, and it'll work just fine. Don't know quite what's up with that, but as with all MS products, sometimes they work better after a reboot. (Sometimes not, of course...)Dave
